Use Sunscreen All Day, Everyday

Why I’m Obsessed with Wearing Sunscreen Every. Single. Day.

If there’s one skincare rule I wish more of us followed, it’s this: never skip sunscreen. Growing up in South Africa, I used to think sunscreen was only for beach days or when we were going on holiday in Durban. But now that I’m in my mid-20s and properly into skincare (thank you, K-Beauty TikTok rabbit holes), I’ve realised sunscreen is the real MVP.

It’s not just about preventing sunburn — it’s about protecting your skin from aging, pigmentation, and long-term damage. And let’s be real, pigmentation is something a lot of us Indian girls deal with. Once it shows up, it’s a mission to fade.

Why Daily Sunscreen is Non-Negotiable

  • The South African sun is no joke. Even if you’re just driving to work or sitting by the window, UV rays still reach your skin.

  • Pigmentation prevention. I love being outdoors, but without sunscreen, my skin shows every mark and spot.

  • Anti-aging from the start. Prevention is way easier (and cheaper) than trying to “fix” damage later.

My Ride-or-Die: Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun SPF50+

Okay, let’s talk about the sunscreen that made me actually enjoy wearing SPF: the Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun: Rice + Probiotics.

  • It feels like a moisturiser, not sunscreen — no greasy film, no white cast.

  • My makeup goes on smoothly over it (major win).

  • It doesn’t sting my eyes (and trust me, I’ve tried sunscreens that had me tearing up all day).

  • Bonus: it’s packed with rice extract and probiotics, so it’s hydrating and nourishing too.

Basically, it’s like skincare and sunscreen in one — which is why it’s become the one product I can’t skip, no matter what.

How I Fit It Into My Day

  • Morning? After my serum and moisturiser, I go in with a generous amount.

  • Working from home? Still apply it. Sunlight through the window counts!

  • Out and about? I carry a little tube in my bag to reapply.

Final Thoughts

In my 20s, sunscreen is less about “anti-aging” and more about building a habit that my 30s and 40s self will thank me for. Honestly, I feel like wearing SPF every day is the ultimate form of self-care.

So if you’re still on the fence about sunscreen — trust me, just try the Beauty of Joseon one. Once you feel how lightweight and glowy it is, you’ll actually look forward to applying it every morning.

Your skin will thank you later. 💛
